Successful People

Today we would like to talk about how to determine if you are a successful person. When we ask people what is success the definitions are as varied as the people we ask. They answer health, happiness, abundance, money, cars, homes, vacations etc.

The best definition of success we have heard comes from Napolean Hill’s book, “Think and Grow Rich” and is as follows:

“Success is the progressive realization of a worth while predetermined goal.”

The moment we set a worthwhile predetermined goal and begin taking action to achieve that goal we are successful. We only fail when we quit. Otherwise what we would normally call failures are only stepping stones to success.

We are on our own journey from where we are now to where we commit ourselves to go. Along the path we will achieve a series of successes and we will also achieve some non-successes and we will fail sometimes as we move closer to achieving our goal. It is important for us to celebrate our successes and now successes along the way.

I’ve known many people who have started out in business and thought they had a good plan, but did not achieve the success they wanted. A major problem for many of these people was that they had not sought good advice from people who had achieved success.

If you don’t learn from the experience of others, you might achieve success but you will probably get there the hard way. You might get lost down many side roads before you find the right one.

We encourage you to set some lofty goals for yourself and begin taking positive action to help you achieve them. That will help you achieve your goals in life.
