Thank you Barbara and Glenn for your commitment and service to others. It is through your creation of the Alivening Weekend and my participating in it that my adult relationship with my father came to be. It had been 20 years since I’d seen him and I realized that I really did care about having my dad in my life – where for years I acted like I didn’t. It made it easier for me not to deal with it and dredge up lots of emotion. Now that I’m on “the other side” of it – it was worth every effort. It’s been truly exhilarating.
